Abstract Submission
(open until 14th September 2025, 23.59 CEST)
(open until 14th September 2025, 23.59 CEST)
Abstract submission and conference registration are done in two steps. First, the abstract submission below (including requests for financial support) runs from 1st June to 14th September 2025. We will then communicate the selected programme and possible financial support in October 2025. The conference registration (incl. payment of the registration fee) will run from 1st September until 14th November (early-bird, discounted fee) / 14th December (final deadline, full fee). The conference will be limited to ~180 in-person attendees, with acceptance simply based on the order of registration. Abstract submission does not guarantee a place at the conference. The talk sessions will be streamed online, though only in-person participants will be able to present talks and posters. See Conference Timeline for more details on the timeline.
RW4 will feature plenum talk sessions & extended poster sessions. You can choose between a preference for an oral talk and a poster presentation for your contribution. All registered participants will get the opportunity to present their research or work as either a talk or poster. We will aim to display posters throughout the entire week. All abstract submissions will be ranked by the SOC, anonymously and in randomised order. Talk sessions will approximately follow the themes of (i) atmospheres, (ii) interiors, (iii) astrobiology, (iv) instrumentation & lab experiments, and (v) formation.
Discussions, interactions and communication between planetary scientists, astronomers and earth scientists are an integral part of the Rocky Worlds series. Break-out sessions are a great way to facilitate this. These fun, interactive sessions can be led by any attendees (or group of attendees) regardless of career stage. We encourage participants to be as creative as possible and put forward ideas for break-out sessions that they would like to lead. If you are thinking about themes or ideas for a break-out session, but want to have some feedback or have any questions, write an informal email to groningen2026@rockyworlds.org.
Every participant can submit only one (1) abstract for inclusion into the program. Contributions from authors selected for a talk who do not register for participation in the conference by the registration deadline (or before the participant limit is reached, whichever comes first) will be replaced by abstracts from a reserve shortlist. After abstract form submission you will receive an email in which you can edit and update your submission until the abstract submission deadline. Alternatively, you can resubmit this form; then only the last entry will be taken into the submission pool.
We hope to be able to support the participation of a number of early-career and underrepresented groups of researchers via registration fee waivers and potentially accommodation support. If you wish to apply for participation support, please fill the relevant field. The early-bird registration fee is not yet final, but we anticipate it to be around €300. All supported participants are required to contribute either a talk or poster. In this field, please also provide details if you require accessibility and/or childcare support. While we will try to support as many people as possible, we cannot guarantee any support.
